NJ Colonials 18AA Player, Anthony Spina, Honored by NJ Devils

The New Jersey Devils honored Anthony Spina of the New Jersey Colonials as part of the Walmart Youth Hockey Community Playmaker Award on October 17, 2017. The Walmart Community Playmaker program is about giving thanks and recognizing those members in our community who are dedicated to improving the lives of others and being a force for good.

Anthony and his team, the Colonials 18 AA White, recently played the 18 AA Jaguar Black team at the Igloo Skating Rink in Mt. Laurel, NJ. At one point in the game, the Jaguar goalie, Luke Martini, collapsed on the ice.

Anthony Spina of the NJ Colonials calmly skated towards the collapsed goalie. Anthony informed the group that he was an EMT and tended to the Jaguar goalie until the ambulance arrived.

It’s selflessness such as this that makes Anthony a standout individual. The Atlantic District would like to congratulate Anthony on his actions and on his award.
