Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey sophomore goaltender Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Ives was between the pipes for Quinnipiac against No. 4 Colgate and No. 5 Cornell on January 6-7 and made 68 saves, turning away 96.8% of shots taken. This the second time Ives has been named Goaltender of the Week by the conference, the first time after the weekend series against Dartmouth and Harvard on October 27-28.
On Friday against No. 4 Colgate, Ives set a career-high with 38 saves. It surpassed her previous career mark of 37 saves, which she set on October 7 when she recorded her first shutout of the season against Providence. On Saturday against No. 5 Cornell, Ives stopped all 23 pucks that came her way in route to a 4-0 Bobcat victory. It was her second shutout of the season, and fourth of her career.
